Now you have the job of choosing who will assist you on your special day.

Who will you have and how many?

The choice of how many will be determined by the size of your overall day. if you are having a small wedding, then just one or two bridesmaids would be suffice but if you are having a larger event, then you can have many more.

I have been to some weddings where they have had 13 bridesmaids and 13 ushers!

It’s choosing who to have that I think is the hard decision. You will have these people in your main wedding photos for a very long time so think carefully and do not feel pressured to having someone that you don’t really want just because they are the only niece in the family or likewise.

If you are lucky enough to have a very special friend who has been there with you through thick and thin and who is going to be a great person to have assist you throughout your wedding preparations, then choose her. You will need lots of help, advice and honesty with a lot of your wedding plans and she will be the one to give it to you. (She will also know you so well that your hen night will be a great event!)

You will also want someone who will be there to calm your nerves on the actual day and wipe away any tears or worries that you may have.

To be a bridesmaid is a very important job and can sometimes be a bit daunting for some people so don’t be offended if they turn you down.

It is tradition to choose from each side of the family but at the end of the day, this is your special day so choose carefully and discuss your choices with your groom to be too.
