3 Tips for Choosing Your Wedding Cake

Choosing a wedding cake for your big day is one of the most important aspects that a bride and groom to be will make.

This will be the ultimate centrepiece to wow your guests when capturing that special moment when the newlywed couple cut the cake.

But knowing how to choose the right cake can be difficult because there are now so many designs available from the very traditional to the more outlandish styles of piled up suitcases and higher tiered cakes.

So what will you go for?

Here are a few tips that I have collected from the many wedding cake suppliers as to what they suggest you do.

How Big is Your Event?

If you are having a small wedding then you will be more suited to having a smaller cake. Overpowering the centrepiece can ruin the effect of a cosy little wedding so go for two tiers instead of anything taller.

What’s Your Flavour?

Think carefully about the flavourings in the cake as not everyone will like coffee or lemon and tastes like that. Maybe try having a few different flavours in the tiers so that there is a variety for people to choose from.

Budget Baking

If you do want to opt for a very high tiered wedding cake but your budget will not stretch that far then ask about dummy tiers. They are made from polystyrene which are then decorated to look exactly the same as the real tiers.

Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding.
